  3. Empathy is the ability to step into someone else’s shoes, be aware of their feelings and understand their needs.

In the workplace, empathy can show respect for co-workers and show that you care, as opposed to just going by rules and regulations. An empathic leadership style can make everyone feel like a team and increase productivity, morale and loyalty. Empathy is a powerful tool in the workplace and will benefit everyone.

  5. When you show empathy to your customers, they will feel that they matter. This will make them feel good about the person they chose to do the job. A happy customer is a returning customer. Making one customer happy can lead to more work through word of mouth.

  6. Empathy is showing the customer that you care about his or hers needs before anything else. It shows you can relate to how they are feeling about the problems they may encounter other than the job being complete. Empathy is pretty much compassion, and when you show compassion to someone then that person will feel welcomed. A welcomed customer is one that will be loyal to you and want you to return when they encounter any other problems. That is a proper way for business dealings.

By showing empathy on the job you will gain trust, and trust leads to future work with that customer as well as friends of that customer. Being an empathetic service technician is how you need to be when dealing with customers.

What benefits will you get by showing empathy on the job?
Empathy is the ability to not only detect what others feel but also to experience that emotion yourself. When a customer feel that the company they are dealing with is showing compassion, they will gain trust and believe in the company's abilities to do other jobs in the future

I think that showing empathy on the job will give you a step ahead of other companies/techs that don't do so. I think it will give you and your company a good repetition and keep your costumers coming back. Its not what you say its how you say it.

  11. Showing empathy on the job will give you the upper hand on someone that isn't showing it. And this will also give your company a good name and the trade. Its all about how you say it not so much about what you say
